Running Safe Operations
Our Approach
Tungsten West holds the health, safety and wellbeing of its employees, contractors and any visitors as one of its highest priorities. It is the duty of employers to ensure that its employees are operating in a safe and healthy environment.
Maintaining a Zero Harm Workplace
We’ve been able to operate incident and accident-free. Our health and safety management system is ISO45001 certified and we’re additionally accredited along the lines of ISO9001 for our focus on quality products, services and processes. We set up a health and safety committee, which is run independently from management and consists of a member of the team from each department. This creates a safe forum for everyone to formulate any concerns.
As we work through project start-up to production we will steadily increase the frequency of our health and safety committee meetings (at least no less than every two months) to discuss relevant and updated legislation, hazards and control measures, accidents and incidents, audits, compliance and continual improvement opportunities. The committee will also discuss a ‘topic of the month’ and positive news and relay the information throughout their teams.
