Tungsten West is a truly unique employer in the South West. As well as working at a spectacular site like no other, our staff enjoy a whole host of benefits and a supportive culture to help them thrive.

 

We expect to employ between 200 to 250 people directly at the Hemerdon Mine, depending on stages of the project and production, and the mine will also support an estimated 1,200 to 1,500 further jobs through the supply chain.

It is home to the third largest tungsten deposit in the world - a substance that appears on the UK Critical Minerals list and is of vital importance to our everyday way of life. Tungsten is needed to manufacture progressive technologies and is crucial to achieving the green agenda, as it is used to make electric vehicles, wind turbines and solar panels, to name but a few.

This is supported by an excellent in-house Health and Safety team, who have implemented a range of procedures and systems to ensure everyone is aware of how to keep themselves and their colleagues safe at work.
