Senior Environmental Advisor

Competitive salary, Permanent position

Join the Tungsten West Limited (TWL) team working on the Hemerdon mine re-start through being an integral part of the team throughout the re permitting, project re-build, commissioning and ramp-up and into production.


You will hold an environmental or related discipline degree and have experience, knowledge and understanding of “regulated facilities” that are covered by the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 and the directives therein. Specific experience of applying for and managing installations environmental permits in landfill/heavy industry would be considered an advantage. The applicant will also be familiar with maintaining legal compliance via the implementation of an ISO14001 environmental management system.


Key in this role is the requirement to:

  • Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times

  • Work in a responsible and safe manner as a key member of the TWL team

  • Support the re-instalment of site environmental permits

  • Support communications with regulatory authorities and key external stakeholders

  • Ensure the site is being maintained to all appropriate legal environmental and planning requirements

  • Design and manage relevant environmental sampling and test work programs to a high and consistent standard

  • Define, and manage applications for future permits and permissions

  • Analyse and Interpret results and provide written reports as required

  • Liaising with the broader TWL team and other relevant departments as required

  • Developing and managing a dedicated database of relevant environmental performance data

  • Assisting the Tungsten West team with other relevant work as required

We are seeking candidates eligible to work in the UK, with a relevant degree or qualifications and a UK (or equivalent) car driving licence.  The successful candidate will be happy working in a dynamic, hardworking environment and integrating with and assisting the broader project team. Candidates should be computer literate, physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weather, have an awareness of environmental legislation and previous experience of implementing an ISO14001 environmental management system and working in heavy industry is highly desirable.
