TWL is looking for an experienced mining and exploration focussed geologist to join Tungsten West’s Hemerdon Project.
You will be a key team member working on the project re-start and take a leading role in managing and developing the geological team and it’s activities at the Hemerdon Minesite in order to provide maternity cover. Key in this role is the requirement to:
Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times,
Work in a responsible and safe manner as a key member of the TWL team,
Manage and Develop the TWL Geological team,
Help develop and drive the geological knowledge and understanding of theHemerdon deposit.
More specifically the role will involve:
Continue to develop TWL’s range of best practice geological work programmes,
Assist in the geological, mining and geo-metallurgical studies that will support the project re-start,
Work as a core member of the Technical and Operations team and be a key liaison with the project and commercial arms of the business,
Manage the on-site laboratory including ongoing development of range of best practice analysis and test work systems,
Liaise with and manage external third-party consultants and service providers (where appropriate) to ensure delivery of results in a prompt and accurate manner,
Plan and manage ongoing and future geological field work programs,
Manage the core yard and sample storage and archiving to the highest standard,
Work with external universities and organisations to undertake research into the Hemerdon deposit,
Analyse and Interpret results and provide written reports as required,
Assist the Tungsten West team with other relevant work as required.
We are seeking candidates eligible to work in the UK, with a UK (or equivalent) car driving licence. The successful candidate will be happy working in a dynamic, hardworking environment and integrating with and assisting the broader project team.
Candidates should be computer literate, physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weather. A Geology Degree, c.8+ years experience within the mining industry, team management experience and competency in using GIS and mining software is a pre-requisite of this role. Candidates with a thorough appreciation of the geology of SW England and similar deposit styles will be preferred.
