Join the Tungsten West Limited (TWL) team working on the mine re-start through being part of the team designing and engineering a number of major modifications to the process plant at the Hemerdon Minesite. You will be a graduate mechanical & electrical engineer with at least 5 years’ hands-on experience in the design and execution of heavy engineering or mineral processing plant projects. Preference will be given to potential candidates who have knowledge of mineral processing equipment including crushers, screens, pumps, conveyors, etc; experience of engineering drafting programmes such as 3D CAD and TEKLA; and an understanding of instrumentation, process control, PLC and SCADA.

Key in this role is the requirement to:

  • Work as a professional engineer, upholding the standards of best practice at all times

  • Work in a responsible and safe manner as a key member of the TWL team

  • Adopt a practical approach to the work and the ability to effectively supervise site jobs

  • Work in an organised and structured manner so as to meet deadlines and avoid mistakes

  • Work together with engineering contractors and equipment vendors

  • Understand engineering principles as applied to the various projects being undertaken

  • Have had experience with process and engineering diagrams and drawings

  • Work together with a drafting team to prepare and check engineering drawings

  • Prepare project and work programmes using MS Project

  • Prepare cost estimates and draw-down schedules

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary HAZID and HAZOP team

  • Have had experience with working under CDM regulations

  • Implement quality control procedures for fabrication work or equipment supply

  • Follow up with suppliers for prompt and correct delivery of ordered goods and services

  • Prepare and monitor job risk assessments and enforcement of H&S regulations

  • Supervise site work including civil engineering, steel erection, electrical and fitting teams

  • Prepare progress and cost reports

  • Liaise with the broader TWL team and other relevant departments as required

  • Assist the Tungsten West team with other relevant work as required

We are seeking candidates eligible to work in the UK, with a relevant degree or qualifications and a UK (or equivalent) car driving licence. The successful candidate will be happy working in a dynamic, hardworking environment and integrating with and assisting the broader project team. Candidates should be computer literate, physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weather. Previous experience working in the mining industry and membership of a professional engineering association are highly desirable.
