Rooted in Plymouth. Committed to the South West.

Tungsten West is here for the long term, as a positive presence in the South West and a genuine investment in the communities around us.

Local people,
local impact.

We're bringing jobs across the full breadth of the operation, investing in training and careers, partnering with local institutions on skills development, and putting our aggregate by-product to work on regional roads and infrastructure.

We're building something in your community.
We want you to be proud of it.

We're boosting the local economy.

Beyond jobs, our presence creates ripple effects. We source from local suppliers and produce aggregates for local construction companies, keeping supply chains short and carbon footprints lower.

We support local causes.

We put resources back into our community, supporting the Plymouth Tree Partnership, Sparkwell School, and Dartmoor Zoo. As we move into full production, our capacity to support local organizations will only grow.

We maintain an active presence at Shaugh Prior, Cornwood, and Sparkwell Parish Councils. We show up to give updates and hear your concerns.

Safe Operations

Everyone who comes to work here goes home safe. That's not a target. It's a baseline.

Focus on zero incidents.

We target an incident free work environment and are working to re-instate ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 9001 (Quality) certifications.

Safety is everyone's business here.

Our independent health and safety committee includes representation from every department. It’s a secure forum where concerns are raised and solved.

Continuous improvement, built in.

Our committee meets regularly to review legislation, hazards, and audits, while sharing safety topics and positive news across all teams. Compliance isn't a box we tick once. It's how we operate.

Our Environment

We're working with this landscape, not against it.

We're working towards zero emissions.

Our long-term ambition is to be emissions-free at Hemerdon. We are actively analyzing technically and financially viable options to reduce our carbon footprint across design, construction, and operation.

Blasting done right.

We are developing a Blast Impact Minimisation and Monitoring Scheme with community input and MPA approval.
